She was called “The Lady with the Lamp’ for some significant reasons. A Nurse used to make her rounds to treat injured soldiers mostly at night and also she was a beacon of light for those who felt lost due to their sickness and hopelessness in the midst of war. She was a celebrated social reformer, statistician, and also the founder of modern-day nursing.
One of the most important facts about her is that she was able to reduce the mortality rate of wounded soldiers during the Crimean War from 42% to 2%. How to Celebrate National Nurses Day 2023?
Nurses can be compared to a sort of Angles as they take care of our health in our most vulnerable state. We can all celebrate this special day for them starting by expressing our gratitude. They do lots of hard work and when someone would appreciate that it will surely make them happy. You could thank a particular nurse who took care of you during the time when you were sick. Or you could simply thank any of the random 3 million nurses registered in the USA.
You also can send a bouquet filled with a coffee pack by attaching a thank you note. Nurses spend almost half of the day and night with little to no sleep at all. Caffeine will likely boost their energy and enthusiasm. You can also come up with your own unique idea to participate in the celebration of this day.
Why did we love to celebrate National Nurses Day?
To be honest, asking this question is kind of silly. We all are witnesses to their valuable contributions. Doctors might figure out what’s wrong with our body but it is the nurses that do the arduous task of following through with the given prescription by the doctor. They perform physical exams, nurse our wounds, administer shots also take care of the dying patients in an empathetic way. Nursing is the most trusted profession among Americans. Nurses don’t actually rest and their empathetic nature makes us all adore and respect them.
