History of National Nachos Day:
The historical origin of the day goes something like this- in the year 1943- a woman named Ignacio Anaya worked in a restaurant in Mexico’s Piedras Negras. Some wives of US soldiers dropped in on her restaurant to have some food one day in that specific year. But there was not much food there.
So, Anaya decided to throw a dish for them with whatever ingredient was available there. Only cheese and tortillas were at her disposal. So, she sliced tortillas into triangles and added some cheddar and jalapeno peppers on top with cheese. She named the food Nachos. Thanks to her our super- bowl events are belly full!
