History Of International Dot Day
Peter H. Reynolds, a children’s book author and illustrator, published his book “The Dot” on September 15, 2003. Vashti in the narrative thought drawing was not her forte, however, her teacher was adamant not to let Vashti internalize that thought permanently in her brain! Vashti’s teacher instructed her, “Just make a mark, and see where it takes you.” She then added a little dot to her parchment paper to denote it. Vashti was shocked to discover her paper with the dot on the walls of the class the following day. Vashti began doing drawings with all types of dots since she was so pleased with her work.
Vashti eventually succeeded in teaching somebody else the courage concept she had learned from her teacher. Despite its diminutive size, a dot is a potent symbol to unleash one’s sense of self through a creative outlet. Due to the above-presented scenario currently, we are blessed with International Dot Day. Millions of kids and adults have been motivated by “The Dot.” Teachers employ it as a strategy to foster students’ imagination and instill conviction in them. On September 15, 2009, Terry Shay, a teacher in Iowa, gave the book to his entire student body.
