When is Children’s Day 2023 in the United States?
Every year, the United States people celebrate Happy Children’s Day on the second Sunday of June month. This year, National Children’s Day falls on Sunday, 11th June 2023.
History of Children’s Day:
It was pastor, Dr. Charles Leonard who was the mastermind behind the initiation of the day. He was the pastor of the Universalist Church of the Redeemer which happens to be situated in Chelsea, Massachusetts. His given name for the day was initially as “Rose Day”, which was considered as a special day for baptizing children.
However, in the year 1995, the 8th of October was announced as National Children’s Day by President Clinton. President Bush followed suit and announced that the day to be celebrated on the second Sunday of June. So, you see now how National Children’s Day now is being celebrated on both the 8th of October and the second Sunday of June.
How to Celebrate Happy Children’s Day 2023?
Use this day as an opportunity to simply be present wholly with your children both mentally and physically. We cannot help but get philosophical on this issue. It’s our children who bear along with our legacy or lineage in the world. If we spend ample enough time to make sure that they grow out to be healthy, respectful, and nice human beings then that makes our reason for existence much more meaningful.
So, take out your children to the place they feel most happy and spend some time with them. If they are growing up, then try to be mindful of their activities. Instilling good values will come in handy in the long run. So, don’t just make them one day’s priority but use this as a reminder to keep them on the top of your priority list.
